The Soft Colors (previously Nate Wey and The Soft Colors) is a Portland based band, who's debut album came out in 2023 on Little Cloud Records. The band is built on the songs of Nate Wey, composer of original music for Teva, Nike, and a building lobby (The Fair Haired Dumbbell), where a piece of his ambient work plays on a 24 hour loop. In addition, Wey's music has been licensed to shows on Apple TV, MTV, and Oxygen Network. The live band includes Erik Menteer (Blitzen Trapper), Kyle Cregan (Wildflowers, Smilepile), Leah Hueser, and Rhea Morais (DJ Queen Amygdala). The Soft Colors synthesizes disparate elements of dream pop, rock, shoegaze, post punk, and americana. Influences include Mazzy Star, Angelo Badalementi, PJ Harvey, and Nine Inch Nails. The mood is emotional, cinematic, and twinged with nostalgia. They recently recorded a four song studio EP at Fremont Studios; as well as an experimental album made entirely outdoors with battery powered equipment. Both releases TBA. In addition, The Soft Colors quietly releases electronic music under the moniker Gallery 23.
Oklahoma Perfect is a Portland, OR based synth-pop trio (w/ members of Ages and Ages, Swords, Timecat) that play haunted ballads for lonesome honky tonks.
