SEANCE CRASHER

Seance Crasher is the recording alias of Portland artist Kevin Rafn, accompanied in studio and on stage by Lia Gist, Scott Harlan, and Tyler Verigin. Through moody lyricism and anachronistic synth tones, Seance Crasher creates sexy yet doleful songscapes arriving just in time for dusk. In collaboration with producer Cam Spies (Radiation City, Blackwater Holylight, The Shivas), Seance Crasher set out to record the champagne-soaked album of their dreams. The new collection of songs entitled Air Apparent draws inspiration from 80’s yacht rock, City Pop, and T.V. true crime soundtracks.

HOMETOWN DRUGS

Hometown Drugs is the Oregon-based recording project of Nate Hansen and John Queant. The duo has released music under various monikers since their teenage years, most recently as The Graduating Class, and they have worked with acclaimed record makers like Mark Endert (Fiona Apple, Maroon 5), Ehren Ebbage (Lizzy McAlpine), and Mark Needham (The Killers, Chris Isaak). The collaboration between Hansen and Queant was once likened by Sequential as “Anderson .Paak and Daryl Hall going on a weeklong bender at Quincy Jones’ studio.” But with Hometown Drugs the duo have traded slick, affable pop for a more organic and earnest sound. Queant, who has made records for the likes of Julia Logue and Laundry, leads production out of his home studio. Hometown Drugs has a series of releases planned for later this year.
